Knowledge to Leadership Conference Returns!

The Golden Gate Chapter is very excited about the return of the Knowledge to Leadership Conference and Exposition on February 2, 2012. We are expecting Mary O'Neill to start the day off for us, Sean Carter to keep us laughing during lunch and Eileen McDargh to close out the day. There will be multiple tracks both in the morning and afternoon. The sessions focus on core management competecies, with the hope everyone can learn something new and use it within our firms. We have a wonderful group of exhibitors ready to share their ideas and products with us. This is an opportunity to receive some high quality education without leaving town.

Adpot-A-Family

Once again this year the Chapter will be sponsoring two families through the Compass Adopt-a-Family program. Compass’ Adopt-a-Family project pairs individuals or groups from the community with needy families who lack the resources to buy holiday gifts. For many of these families, these gifts are the only ones they will receive this holiday season. The Adopt-a-Family project matches individuals or group donors with a family/families who is/are homeless or extremely low-income.

The Chapter has budgeted from our general fund for this purpose. But if any member would like to contribute further to this worthy cause, please contact David Chi at dchi@zelle.com or Pam Lentz at plentz@mofo.com. We would appreciate any additional funds received as it will mean we can fulfill more of the families’ wishes. The deadline for additional monetary contributions is Friday, December 9. A special thank you to The People Connection, Davidson Legal and Swiss Post for their generous sponsorship of the Chapter's Diversity program and Diversity Scholarship. The primary objective of the Golden Gate Chapter's Diversity Committee is to increase the diversity amongst non-lawyer professionals within law firms and legal departments. Our goal is to raise the awareness of students and young professionals on the various career paths available today. Through a combination of outreach, education and partnership, we strive to meet our diversity goals. OUTREACH In collaboration with the City College of San Francisco's College of Business, we introduce our Diversity Initiative specifically to students enrolled in Legal Studies, Accounting, Business Management or Office Technology programs.
