The Community Service Committee supports the National ALA Annual Community Challenge Weekend project by creating a local event where members, vendors and firms work together in our local community to give back. Membership
The strength of the Chapter rests solely on its membership. The efficiency of the Chapter is assured when new members, with new ideas and energy join and participate. The primary goal of the Membership Committee is to reach those individuals within our profession who will benefits from membership in the ALA. The Membership Committee also produces an annual directory of Chapter members and member firms, which is distributed free of charge to all members, providing invaluable contact information about all members.

Newsletter
The Newsletter Committee of the Chapter publishes a monthly newsletter called The Bridge. The purpose of the newsletter is to keep Chapter members informed of upcoming Section, Chapter, Regional and National meetings and events. It also publishes educational and informational articles on issues that concern members, and provides members with a forum to share their experiences and ideas while promoting Chapter services and networking opportunities.

Quarterly Meetings/Events

Salary & Benefits Survey
The Survey Committee surveys the Bay Area legal community for salary, benefits and staffing data and prepares a comprehensive, detailed and localized summary of Bay Area firms with the assistance of an independent accounting firm. The salary and benefits survey is an extremely valuable tool for administrators and managers in the legal community. The Committee oversees the revision and distribution of the survey questionnaire, reviews the data before publication, and handles sales of the survey throughout the year.
